The ‘Bukhari’ Project – One Hadith A Day
Salam,
Bismillah.
I got an idea! And I’m definitely holding on to it. Just like Imaam Bukhari. :D
I’m going through a part of Sahih Bukhari in a course. In the beginning, we learnt about Imaam Bukhari’s life and works. What an amazing personality!
One thing (and a LOT more) inspired me: to memorize a Hadith, he used to bring it to practice, even if he didn’t have any particular interest in the discussed matter. For example, there’s this Hadith which talks about teaching our children swimming and archery and horse riding. Just to act upon it, he took archery exercises, even though he didn’t have much liking for it.
So, I plan to go through the whole Sahih Bukhari and act upon each of the Ahadith. I’ll be sharing my experiences with you as well: how I decided to act upon the Hadith, what did I learn, how did I benefit etc. It’ll be an awesome experience inshaAllah and I don’t want to keep it to myself.
Current target: one Hadith a day.
One thing. I need to clarify my intention right now (mostly to keep a check on myself). This project is just a little something I’ll have to present to Allah on the Day of Judgement and hope He’ll grant me salvation + success when I most need it, inshaAllah.
(Imaam Bukhari made almost the same intention when compiling Sahih Bukhari. :) )
Why did I make an intention? Let’s just say there are two ways of doing things:
– just like that
– due to a reason/ with a purpose
For example, I’m going to sleep.. I can go to sleep ‘just cuz’ and I can make the intention of getting some rest and have a fresh start to the next day and do maximum ‘Ibadah/ good deeds.
What’s better?
Join me on this journey of ‘Ilm and ‘Amal. Your ideas and comments will be highly appreciated.
