Power of Prayer (Hadith No. 75]

Abd Allah ibn Abbas (Arabic: عبد الله ابن عباس‎) was a paternal cousin of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He is revered by Muslims for his knowledge and was an expert in Tafsir (exegesis of the Qur’an), as well as an authority on the Islamic Sunnah. [Wikipedia]

This is why:

Volume 1, Book 3, Number 75:

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas:

Once the Prophet embraced me and said, “O Allah! Bestow on him the knowledge of the Book (Qur’an).”

Prophet (SAW)’s prayer for Ibn ‘Abbas was answered. His knowledge was deep as the ocean and he’s still considered an authority by the scholars. He transmitted many Ahadith, knew Tafsir of Quran, laws of fiqh and much more.

See the power of prayer? One du’a (prayer) took him to such exalted heights.

Lesson: get du’as from others by helping/serving them. Plus, make god du’as for others when they help/serve you, instead of just saying ‘thank you’.
