‘Spread Your Garment’ (Hadith No. 119)

Salam,
Bismillah.

How lucky were the people who lived in the time of the Prophet (SAW)! Who got to see him everyday, who got to talk to him and enjoy his company. Most of all, the luckiest were those who got his dua/barakah. Abu Huraira (RA) was one of them.

Volume 1, Book 3, Number 119:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

I said to Allah’s Apostle “I hear many narrations (Hadiths) from you but I forget them.” Allah’s Apostle said, “Spread your Rida’ (garment).” I did accordingly and then he moved his hands as if filling them with something (and emptied them in my Rida’) and then said, “Take and wrap this sheet over your body.” I did it and after that I never forgot any thing.

This ‘thing’ that the Prophet (SAW) filled his garment was nothing physical. I wouldn’t go on trying to explain it either because I’m not able to. But anyway, it was definitely a miracle of the Prophet (SAW). And it surely worked miracles for Abu Huraira (RA). What a lucky guy!

Lesson: get people’s duas in order to speed up your success. If the people are righteous, it’s even better! :)

Wassalam!
