The Khuffs [Leather Socks] (Hadith No. 136)
Salam,
Bismillah.
This is the last Hadith of Kitaab-ul-‘Ilm. Kitab-ul-Wudu (Ablution) starts tomorrow, inshaAllah! :)
Narrated Ibn ‘Umar:
A man asked the Prophet : “What (kinds of clothes) should a Muhrim (a Muslim intending to perform ‘Umra or Hajj) wear? He replied, “He should not wear a shirt, a turban, trousers, a head cloak or garment scented with saffron or Wars (kinds of perfumes). And if he has n slippers, then he can use Khuffs (leather socks) but the socks should be cut short so as to make the ankles bare.”
The dress code for a Muhrim (one in Ihraam) includes the khuffain (a pair of leather socks). I was wondering if they’re worn on Hajj/’Umra or normally as well. And I found out various brands and labels selling them. I plan to get one – in a funky color inshaAllah. :D
Wassalam.
