Opinions (Hadith No. 201)
Salam,
Bismillah.
What kind of opinions do people have about you? Do you not know or not care? I’ll give you a reason to care iA.
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar:
Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas said, “The Prophet passed wet hands over his Khuffs.” ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar asked Umar about it. ‘Umar replied in the affirmative and added, “Whenever Sa’d narrates a Hadith from the Prophet, there is no need to ask anyone else about it.”
What ‘Umar (RA) said about Sa’d (RA) is true. There’s a whole branch of Hadith Sciences known as Ilm-ul-Rijaal (Study of Narrators/Transmitters). Each narrator is checked and rechecked to assure his authenticity and credibility to narrate a Hadith of Prophet (SAW). If a scholar says that so-and-so is weak, his narration won’t be taken into consideration. There’s a lot more to it..
Anyway, so it really matters what people say about you. Get opinions. :)
Wassalam.
