Towel (Hadith No. 259)
Salam,
Bismillah.
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 259:
Narrated Maimuna:
I placed water for the bath of the Prophet and he poured water with his right hand on his left and washed them. Then he washed his private parts and rubbed his hands on the ground, washed them with water, rinsed his mouth and washed his nose by putting water in it and blowing it out, washed his face and poured water on his head. He withdrew from that place and washed his feet. A piece of cloth (towel) was given to him but he did not use it.
Now that doesn’t mean using towels isn’t a good thing. It’s just that, on this specific incident, Prophet (SAW) did not wipe his face off with a towel. Maybe because it was too hot and he didn’t feel like it. Now that we have summer on the corner, we also feel like splashing water onto our faces and let it cool off our skin under the fan/AC. Might as well do the same after doing wudu/ghusl. :)
Wassalam.
