Grab the Prayer! (Hadith No. 554)

Hadith no. 553 is a repeat. Read it here (under no. 531).

Establish the prayer. Be steadfast. This includes praying regularly and on time. But there are days when your prayer gets delayed due to some reason. You probably had a long class, or you were traveling, or Shaytaan made you forget. The important thing is to try ‘grabbing’ the prayer. If you know the starting and ending times of a certain prayer, you can be sure if you prayed on time or not. This is why Kitaab Mawaqeet-us-Salah [Book of Times of the Prayers], the one we’re currently doing, is really important to go through. :)

Volume 1, Book 10, Number 554:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever could get one Rak’a of a prayer (in its proper time), he has got the prayer.”

So even if you started your prayer the very last minute, you succeeded in ‘grabbing’ the prayer.
