Superiority of Adhaan (Hadith No. 582)
Salam,
Bismillah.
Volume 1, Book 11, Number 582:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Apostle said, “When the Adhan is pronounced Satan takes to his heels and passes wind with noise during his flight in order not to hear the Adhan. When the Adhan is completed he comes back, and again takes to his heels when the Iqama is pronounced, and after its completion he returns again till he whispers into the heart of the person (to divert his attention from his prayer) and makes him remember things which he does not recall to his mind before the prayer, and that causes him to forget how much he has prayed.”
My first response to the Hadith: so true!
Shaytaan runs as far as he can when he hears the words of Adhaan. THAT is your opportunity. Avail those Shaytaan-free moments. Turn back to Allah. Connect with Him. Pray. Seek forgiveness. Do that which Shaytaan has made extremely hard for you to do in your routine.
Shaytaan will return after the Adhaan. He’ll interrupt your prayer. And unless you seek Allah’s protection from him, he’ll remind you of all the unnecessary stuff during your prayer. So much so that you’ll forget which rak’at you were praying. (Ring a bell?)
Lesson: Make use of the golden moments five times a day when the Adhaan is being called. They’re like Ramadan, when it’s just you, your nafs and Allah (SWT). :)
Wassalam.
