The Fajr Sunnahs (Ahadith 592-593)

Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 11, Number 592:

Narrated Hafsa:

When the Mu’adhin pronounced the Adhan for Fajr prayer and the dawn became evident, the Prophet (SAW) ordered a two-Rak’at light prayer (Sunnah) before the Iqamah of the compulsory (congregational) prayer.

Volume 1, Book 11, Number 593:

Narrated ‘Aisha:

The Prophet used to offer two light Rak’at between the Adhaan and the Iqamah of the Fajr prayer.

In other narrations, we get to know that he (SAW) used to recite Surah al-Kafiroon in the first Rak’ah of Fajr Sunnahs and Surah al-Ikhlaas in the second. :)

Don’t miss the two Sunnahs before the Fajr prayer. It’s a Sunnah! :)
For men: Prophet (SAW) prayed the two Sunnah rak’aat at home, before leaving for the masjid to perform the fardh (obligatory) prayer.

Wassalam.
