The Fajr Prayer of Friday (Hadith No. 714)
Assalamu`alaykum,
Bismillah.
Volume 2, Book 13, Number 714:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet used to recite the following in the Fajr prayer of Friday, “Alif Lam Mim, Tanzil” (Surat-as-Sajda #32) and “Hal-ata-`ala-l-Insani” (i.e. Surah-Ad-Dahr #76).
If you didn’t know this, chances are people around you don’t know either. Spread the word. Yes, Imaams of masajid (mosques) too!
Wassalam.
Mind vs. Heart
We debate and argue till our throats go dry,
Yet who do we call when we’re about to die?
When the world brings us down to our knees
Whom does our heart wish to appease?
At the end of the day we’re nothing but dust,
Then why do our intellects we only trust?
Recognising our Creator is not rocket science,
The only thing preventing us is our bias.
Yes, the God I believe in told me to reflect,
To use my resources and powers to detect.
Why were we given these faculties, don’t you see?
How can everything be limited to our own legacy?
The mind plays games, asks questions to no end,
Yet the heart does not take long to comprehend.
When times are hard and moments are tense,
When nothing in the world seems to make sense,
Beneath the layers of dirt and rust
The heart knows the Only One we can trust.
