Mother’s Day
Wrote this today, after getting frequent “Mother’s Day” texts. Seriously, where was this love the whole year? -_-
I don’t know what’s up with everyone today;
Calling, texting, emailing, saying “Happy Mother’s Day”
If you really love your mom then stop trying to prove it;
One day to show your love? That’s really kind of stupid;
Just ONE day for your Mothers, do you really think that’s fair?
Throwing her out of home to live alone, so that’s how much you care!!
As Muslims, we should love our mothers every single day;
Stay humble and polite, no matter what she might say;
Cuz we know what she went through,
To make us what we are today;
Remember when you had that exam?
She stood up all night to pray!
One day is not enough,
And don’t even ask why!
SHE used to stay awake,
All those nights you used to cry!
She sacrificed her joy for what?
So YOUR life you could enjoy!
Every time you got hurt,
SHE was the one to cry!
She put aside her own wishes,
Just to buy YOU that toy!
Now you get angry at her “stupidity”
Like your questions never used to annoy?
They say Paradise lies beneath a Mother’s feet;
So put that expression of love on repeat;
As Allah says in Surah Al-Isra:
“And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say,
“My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.””
So do that, and tell her that you love her, every single day;
Cuz even if you do that… HER love, you cannot repay!

Gr8 one…..
I am not against nor in favor. I am just an optimist. Its really unfair to love your mother for a single day, but Mother’s Day is not really about that. Its about showing gratitude to your mother on this day. Seriously, how many of us just everyday go to our mother or call her and say we love you or give her a gift or a hand written card to show our gratitude for her.
Its like any special day which we celebrate e.g New Year or Eid. Its not because we just remember it for a day, but its to show our unlimited respect and love.
Same in the case for Mother’s Day, we all love our mothers very much and mothers’ day is the day on which we can really show how much we respect and love our mom…
I love you mom.
without doubt mothers day is a bida (innovation in Islam).
In our family we were celebrating mothers day year after year, this time I told my wife and mother that I do not appreciate this, since its a clear bida. My mother agreed, however my wife (being a mother herself) was upset that I did not wanted to celebrate mothers day (read: bring her flowers). However the following day I brought her the flowers she did get mothers day.
