It doesn’t take much to figure out that our ummah in general, and our country in particular, is going through a state of crisis. Whether it is corruption, or insecurity, or instability, or a shortage of energy and power, or immorality, or indecency; seems like it’s all happening – an “age of fitnah” if you will.

Without getting into long discussions, I’ll present before you, simply four ayaat (verses) from the Qur’an that point the finger back at us. Yes, that we indeed are the reason for our problems.

Ayah No.1

وَيَعۡفُواْ عَن كَثِيرٍ۬ وَمَآ أَصَـٰبَڪُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ۬ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ

“And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He (Allah) pardons much.” [Ash-Shura 42:30]

ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِى ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَيۡدِى ٱلنَّاسِ
