Original post here.
September 25, 2010 was the day I posted the first Hadith of Bukhari. It was about intentions. That the reward of your deeds depends upon your intentions. Quoting myself:
By Allah, I only want Allah’s pleasure through this. I hope for salvation in the Hereafter. I need real success: entering Jannah (Paradise) directly, not via Jahannam (Hell). I wish to be among those who get the company of prophets, the truthful, martyrs and the righteous. I pray for the good of this world and the Hereafter.
I remember being so inspired by Imaam Bukhari that I felt like I had to do this. I knew I wasn’t a good writer (still ain’t), but I asked Allah for help and jumped into it. I made a commitment to do one Hadith a day. I’ve tried to keep my consistency. But human that I am, I’ve skipped some days as well, due to work load or internet problems or plain forgetfulness. May Allah forgive me for that. :(
I promised myself I’ll act upon each of the Ahadith. Frankly, I haven’t been 100% successful in that either. There were reasons. :P
I started this blog with a passion, but some of the days, I felt it was more of a responsibility than anything else. I’m not proud of that.
But I’m in love with this blog. I know I can’t do justice to the Ahadith but I still want to keep doing it. It’s a very minor effort, but it is only for Allah. The one thing I wouldn’t change for anyone else. I might not live long enough to complete this project, but that doesn’t worry me. For it is Allah’s work. He’ll look after it iA. :)
And I’ve had a little success with it too. The credit does not go to me at all. I have Allah, Dr. Farhat Hashmi, NetworkedBlogs and other social networks to thank. :P
And I’ve gone through a lot in this year. Allah has always been there to help, though. If He takes me to it, He takes me through it as well. Alhamdulillah. :)
What a haphazard post this is! My awesome writing skills. ^_^
I pray for consistency in this project of mine and purity in my intention always. For I expect reward for it from none but Allah.
All good is from Allah. Any shortcomings are mine indeed.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m an active member of Youth Club. Alhamdulillah for that.
YC (Youth Club) aims to gather today’s youth and give them positive outlets for their skills and energies. For this very reason, YC organizes events/activities each month. Just FYI, we started this club in May ’11. Joy of Giving was held in June; Skilled Up! was July’s highlight; and Eidi Project has been the talk of a few towns (Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Wah, Risalpur etc.) this August. :D
The initial plan for Eidi Project was to collect funds, visit a local hospital/orphanage, give kids some Eidi, bring smiles to their faces and return home satisfied. But I gotta say, it turned out quite differently. But due to Allah’s favor upon us, it only got bigger and better.
The whole project was divided into three phases: collection, packing and distribution.

Funds were collected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Risalpur and Wah. When I say funds, I mean money, clothes, toys, books etc. We’re still counting the total cash received, but it’s bordering 1 lac. All by the Grace of Allah.
August 19th was Packing Day. Authorities at Captain Cook’s were kind enough to let us use their space for this purpose. Around 20 volunteers showed up. We packed gifts for about 250 kids. Wrote customized ‘Eid Mubarak’ messages too. It was fun, to say the least. :)
August 20th was Distribution Day. We selected a school in F-11 (OSCS) where more than 130 underprivileged children are currently studying. It was their last day of school before they got off for Eid holidays. When we went there, we were surprised to see that they were impatiently waiting for us. Little girls had mehndi on their hands and smiles on their faces. We started distributing the Eidi gifts. Each kid I handed a gift to, returned to me a genuine smile and an adorable ‘JazakAllah’. Loved the feeling. :)
On the same day, around 160 orphans/needy children were given Eidi in Risalpur under the same project. Volunteers who went there enjoyed a lot and gave amazing reviews. Alhamdulillah. A full report by the project in charge over there is awaited.
Chapter three of distribution phase is Nawshehra. We’ll be sending over cash and other collections (whatever we can get by Aug 23rd iA) to our connection over there. They will then distribute Eidi to the deserving families then inshaAllah. There’s still time. If you’re interested in donating, contact email@example.com NOW!
All in all, I have to say, being a part of this project has been an honor.
Felt the joy of Eid way before Eid. :)
