Ihraam – Shower? (Hadith No. 1561)
Bismillah.
Hadith no. 1560 (below) is a repeat. Read it here.
Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas (radiallaahu `anhu):
A man was crushed to death by his she-camel and was brought to Allah’s Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) who said, “Give him a bath and shroud him, but do not cover his head, and do not bring any perfume near to him, as he will be resurrected reciting Talbiya.”
Today’s Hadith:
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Hunain:
Abdullah bin Al-Abbas (radiallaahu `anhu) and Al-Miswar bin Makhrama (radiallaahu `anhu) differed at Al-Abwa’; Ibn ‘Abbas (radiallaahu `anhu) said that a Muhrim could wash his head; while Al-Miswar (radiallaahu `anhu) maintained that he should not do so. ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas (radiallaahu `anhu) sent me to Abu Aiyub Al-Ansari (radiallaahu `anhu) and I found him bathing between the two wooden posts (of the well) and was screened with a sheet of cloth. I greeted him and he asked who I was. I replied, “I am ‘Abdullah bin Hunain and I have been sent to you by Ibn ‘Abbas (radiallaahu `anhu) to ask you how Allah’s Apostle (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) used to wash his head while in the state of lhram.” Abu Aiyub Al-Ansari (radiallaahu `anhu) caught hold of the sheet of cloth and lowered it till his head appeared before me, and then told somebody to pour water on his head. He poured water on his head, and he (Abu Aiyub) rubbed his head with his hands by bringing them from back to front and from front to back and said, “I saw the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) doing like this.”
Hence proven, that a Muhrim may take a shower and wash his hair as well.
It is permissible for the Muslim to wash his entire body in order to cool down if it is hot. This will give him more energy in order to perform this act of worship. He should take care when washing so that nothing falls from his hair or skin.

P.S. it’s interesting to know the way Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wasallam) used to wash his hair – moving his hands front to back and then back to front. Unknown Sunnah, eh?

Allah’s Apostle came to us when his daughter died and said, “Wash her thrice or five times or more, if you see it necessary, with water and Sidr and then apply camphor or some camphor at the end; and when you finish, notify me.” So when we finished it, we informed him and he gave us his waist-sheet and told us to shroud the dead body in it.

Aiyub said that Hafsa narrated to him a narration similar to that of Muhammad in which it was said that the bath was to be given for an odd number of times, and the numbers 3, 5 or 7 were mentioned. It was also said that they were to start with the right side and with the parts which were washed in ablution, and that Um ‘Atiyya also mentioned, “We combed her hair and divided them in three braids.”

Narrated Muhammad:
Um ‘Atiyya said, “One of the daughters of the Prophet died and he came out and said, ‘Wash her three or five times or more, if you think it necessary, with water and Sidr, and last of all put camphor (or some camphor) and when you finish, inform me.’ ” Um Atiyya added, “When we finished we informed him and he gave us his waist-sheet and said, ‘Shroud her in it.’ ” And Um ‘Atiyya (in another narration) added, “The Prophet said, ‘Wash her three, five or seven times or more, if you think it necessary.’ ” Hafsa said that Um ‘Atiyya had also said, “We entwined her hair into three braids.”

Um ‘Atiyya (an Ansari woman who gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet ) came to Basra to visit her son, but she could not find him. He gave his waist-sheet to us (to shroud her). We entwined the hair (of the deceased girl) in three braids and made them fall at her back.

Tight Sleeves (Hadith No. 359)
Salam,
Bismillah.
Girls. We wear clothes with tight sleeves an when time for prayer comes, we ask: is it fardh (mandatory) to wash our arms during wudhu? Let’s see what the Prophet (SAW) did…
Narrated Mughira bin Shu’ba:
Once I was traveling with the Prophet and he said, “O Mughira! take this container of water.” I took it and Allah’s Apostle went far away till he disappeared. He answered the call of nature and was wearing a Syrian cloak. He tried to take out his hands from its sleeve but it was very tight so he took out his hands from under it. I poured water and he performed ablution like that for prayers and passed his wet hands over his Khuff (leather socks) and then prayed.
Clear enough? Yes, it is fardh to wash arms for wudhu. If you have to take off the shirt to do wudhu, do it. Or just make wudhu before wearing such clothes and make things easy for yourself. :)

Hadith No. 276
Salam,
Bismillah.
Hadith no. 275 is a repeat. Read it here.
Narrated Aisha:
Whenever any one of us was Junub, she poured water over her head thrice with both her hands and then rubbed the right side of her head with one hand and rubbed the left side of the head with the other hand.
In the bath of Janaba, it is not compulsory to wash one’s hair properly. All that’s required is to wet the roots of hair and rub them, as described in the Hadith above.
But the bath of Haydh (menstruation) is a bit different. We’ll look at it in detail in Kitaab-ul-Haydh (Book of Menstruation) inshaAllah. :)

As For Me.. (Hadith No. 254)
Salam,
Bismillah.
Remember Bath Method#1? Three handfuls of water were poured on the head. Sunnah: wash your head thrice, even if you’re under the shower.
Narrated Jubair bin Mutim:
Allah’s Apostle said, “As for me, I pour water three times on my head.” And he pointed with both his hands.
