Bath Method#2 (Hadith No. 249)

Salam,
Bismillah.

This is another way to take shower after Janaba (sexual intercourse). The difference between methods #1 and #2 is washing the feet at different steps. You’ll see.. (Get method#1 here.)

Volume 1, Book 5, Number 249:

Narrated Maimuna:

(the wife of the Prophet) Allah’s Apostle performed ablution like that for the prayer but did not wash his feet. He washed off the discharge from his private parts and then poured water over his body. He withdrew his feet from that place (the place where he took the bath) and then washed them. And that was his way of taking the bath of Janaba.

You can do it either way. Only following the steps while taking a shower can bring you reward. How easy is that? :)

Wassalam.

The Age Limit (Hadith No. 223)

Salam,
Bismillah.

This is in reference to Hadith no. 222.

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 223:

Narrated Um Qais bint Mihsin:

I brought my young son, who had not started eating (ordinary food) to Allah’s Apostle who took him and made him sit in his lap. The child urinated on the garment of the Prophet, so he asked for water and poured it over the soiled (area) and did not wash it.

The urine of a child (boy only) is not impure till a specific age. During the first few months, when he does not take anything except milk, his urine may be left unwashed if it touches anything other than his own garments. Sprinkling water over the soiled place is enough, just like the Prophet (SAW) did. But as soon as he starts eating, his urine has to be washed even if it’s a big mess.

Wassalam.

Wash It 7 Times (Hadith No. 173)

Salam,
Bismillah.

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 173:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah’s Apostle said, “If a dog drinks from the utensil of anyone of you it is essential to wash it seven times.”

Reason: dogs are very unhygienic and their saliva causes various disease e.g. rabies.
These are reasons we can think of. But the Prophet (SAW) was much wiser and must have had other reasons. We might not know them. Still, we hear and we obey. Wash dog-licked seven times. :)

Wassalam.

The First Thing.. (Hadith No. 163)

Salam,
Bismillah.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up? Say the dua, rub your eyes, stretch your body? You’ll learn something very different today. Keep reading..

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 163:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah’s Apostle said, “If anyone of you performs ablution he should put water in his nose and then blow it out and whoever cleans his private parts with stones should do so with odd numbers. And whoever wakes up from his sleep should wash his hands before putting them in the water for ablution, because nobody knows where his hands were during sleep.”

So, wash your hands before doing anything else with them. And you’ve understood the reason, I hope. :)

Wassalam.
