Variety (Hadith No. 190)
Salam,
Bismillah.
We’re going through Kitab-ul-Wudu (Book of Ablution) and Alhamdulillah, we know the right way to perform wudu. But one must know that there is a lot of variation in the way of performing wudu. For example, we came to know that one may wash his/her body parts once or twice or thrice in a wudu. Similarly, we’ll come across another variation today iA. It’s about the rinsing of the mouth and nose. So read carefully!
Narrated ‘Amr bin Yahya:
(on the authority of his father) ‘Abdullah bin Zaid poured water on his hands from a utensil containing water and washed them and then with one handful of water he rinsed his mouth and cleaned his nose by putting water in it and then blowing it out. He repeated it thrice. He, then, washed his hands and forearms up to the elbows twice and passed wet hands over his head, both forwards and backwards, and washed his feet up to the ankles and said, “This is the ablution of Allah’s Apostle.”
See the underlined part? Yeah, that’s the option we’ve got. Rinse mouth and nose with one or two handfuls of water. Your choice! :)
Wassalam.
